Description

ALSEAL AS-4001 / AS-4001S MS Construction Sealant is a single-component, moisture-curing sealant and adhesive based on advanced MS Polymer technology. It cures into a flexible elastomeric seal that accommodates joint movement while providing excellent adhesion to a wide range of construction materials, generally without primer. Formulated for weathering, UV and temperature resistance, it is suitable for construction joints, fa?ade work and perimeter sealing. Its low-VOC formulation contains no solvent, isocyanate or silicone oil, helping to prevent shrinkage, blistering and staining of adjacent surfaces. The cured sealant can be painted with most industrial paints for a coordinated finish.

APPLICATION / SUBSTRATES

Concrete wall panel joints, expansion joints and control joints; window frame perimeter sealing; metal and natural stone façade cladding.

Suitable substrates include anodised aluminium, masonry, porcelain, coated metal, finished wood, epoxy and polyester panels, uPVC, polystyrene and stainless steel.

±50% movement capability; good UV and weathering resistance; paintable with compatible paints; bonds most substrates without primer.

Low static charge helps reduce dirt streaking. Silicone-oil-free formulation helps prevent adjacent surface staining. Solvent-free and isocyanate-free formulation avoids shrinkage and blistering.

GECA certified and LEED compliant, as stated in the supplied material.

290 ml cartridge: 20 cartridges per carton.

PERFORMANCE / TECHNICAL NOTES

Standards: ASTM C920 Class 50; ISO 11600 F Class 25 LM. Food-contact compliance with FDA 21 CFR 175.300 is stated in the supplied material.

Tack-free time: 30–60 minutes.
Tensile strength: >1.0 N/mm².
Elongation at break: >600%.
Shore A hardness: 25–35.
VOC content: <10 g/L.
Application temperature: 5°C to 40°C.
Service temperature: −30°C to 100°C.
Shelf life: 9 months for cartridges; 12 months for sausages.

Limitations: Not recommended for constant water immersion, outdoor glass sealing, or use on PE, PP, PTFE/Teflon, neoprene or bitumen. Not paintable with alkyd paints.
