Description

Bostik FIREBAN ONE is a one-component, low-modulus, intumescent polyurethane sealant designed for construction joints and service penetrations requiring fire resistance and accommodation of movement. It cures into a tough, flexible seal capable of repeated expansion and compression, with movement capability of ±25% of the original joint width. Suitable for fire-rated and acoustic sealing applications, it provides adhesion to a range of building materials and resistance to normal weathering conditions. Its gun-grade consistency allows smooth application and tooling, while its paintable, non-staining finish supports a neat appearance. Fire resistance of up to four hours is achievable in suitable tested joint and penetration configurations.

APPLICATION / SUBSTRATES

Joint sealing: In-situ concrete floors and walls; precast and tilt-up panels; brickwork, blockwork and rendered masonry; plasterboard and fibre cement sheet systems.

Penetrations: Sealing around electrical cables and pipes through fire-separating elements.

Acoustic applications: Gap filling where acoustic and fire performance are required.

Adhesion to metal, wood, plasterboard and masonry is stated in the supplied material.

CHARACTERISTICS & BENEFITS

One component—no mixing required; low modulus with ±25% joint movement; fire resistance up to four hours in tested systems; high acoustic properties; smooth gunnability and tooling; paintable; non-staining; durable and resistant to weathering and UV exposure; does not support fungal growth.

MATERIAL / FINISH / COLOUR

Material: Intumescent polyurethane sealant.

Cured finish: Tough, flexible elastomeric seal; paintable.

SIZE / PACKAGING

600 ml sausage-style sachet.

PERFORMANCE / TECHNICAL NOTES

Fire testing: AS 1530.4, in accordance with AS 4072.1. The achievable fire rating depends on the tested assembly and installation details.

Movement capability: ±25%—50% total movement.
Application temperature: +5°C to +35°C.
Storage temperature: 5°C to 30°C; protect from moisture and freezing.

Use specified backing material and dry tooling; wet tooling with water, solvents or soap solutions is not recommended. Allow 14 days’ curing before water exposure; not suitable for full immersion. Consult the manufacturer before applying to specially coated surfaces. Full submittal documentation is available on request.
